Recreational Tumbling & Trampoline at THE ROCK
This skill-oriented class is for school-age children and teaches proper TnT technique for tumbling & trampoline.
Class starts at the age of four and continues into our adult classes. Register for a TNT class (tumbling & trampoline). All classes will work on standing and running tumbling progressions. Please see our schedule for class times.
What is the difference between TnT and gymnastics? Only trampoline & floor skills will be taught in this class. The students will not train skills on the artistic events that include (vault, bars and beam for women ) and (rings, pommel horse, p-bars, vault and high bar for men). To receive instruction in these events you should register for a gymnastics class.
What if my child just wants to tumble for cheerleading when she gets to Jr High? The TnT class will give them the tools needed to tumble for cheer and more. In addition to tumbling for the famous "back handspring" 30% of class will be spent on trampoline skills. This class is designed for students that want to pursue the sport of trampoline and tumbling. If cheerleading is the goal - we recommend a cheer tumble class.
Should my child start off in tumbling before advancing to gymnastics? There are basics to learn on all events. If the child is expressing an interest in gymnastics then you shoud start there. Should they decide at a later date that they just want to train trampoline & tumbling they can easily transfer.
If I am an accomplished tumbling & trampolinist but I want to pursue gymnastics - what do I do? Because gymnasts also train floor and use trampoline as a teaching tool you will want to have an evaluation to see where the best placement is for you. Often a TnT athlete can move quickely through the curriculmn due to the similarities in the sports. Basic skills will be needed on the other events to balance the level you are working at.
