Gymstones Recreational Gymnastics
What kind of little girl would rather get her homework out of the way than talk on the phone or watch TV? Answer: A GYMNAST! Yes, that's right. Believe it or not, gymnasts tend to be organized and disciplined. Not because they are all prodigies mind you. Simply put, they are eager to get the "have to do" out of the way so they can flip, tumble, and twirl.
These classes are offered for young ladies 6 years old (as of the current birthday cut off date) and up. Students are instructed through a curriculum designed to guarantee progress and raise self-esteem. Every student moves at their own pace to advance as quickly as their individual goals, strengths, and work ethic will take them. As they master the first level of skills they advance to a class with students that are at the same level. Keeping the girls grouped by skill ability helps the class as a whole to move more efficiently through the skills and helps prevent the frustration of others being ahead of their current abilities. Overall we want to ensure that all of the classes at THE ROCK balance self-esteem issues and still challenge the student to excel.
Each class begins with a fun cardio warm up and stretch. Gymnastics requires good flexibility, and learning how to obtain this is important in all levels. The students then rotate to three apparatus' each lesson. These include floor exercise (tumbling) and the other events (vault, bars, beam, dance and trampoline). These are rotated into the lessons throughout the month to give training on every apparatus.
